The Volvo XC60 is a small SUV developed by Volvo Cars. It was manufactured at Volvo Cars Company in Belgium and was produced on the Volvo Y20 platform.
XC60 Concept (2007)
The XC60 concept was introduced at 2007 and included with
• a newly styled grille,
• a glass roof,
• a much larger Volvo emblem,
• 20 inch wheels,
• mechanical tail gate, and
• New shifting mechanism.
The vehicle was revealed at the North American International Auto Show in 2007.
First generation (2008-Present)
The production car was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008, and the trading of this car started from 2008.
2008 XC Volvo
The R-Design variant of the XC 60 Volvo will be available in 2010, featuring
• a similar colored body kit,
• unique interior and exterior trim, and
• stiffer damping and chassis.
Safety
The new Volvo XC60 is included with standard Volvo safety amenities that contain

Based on the speed, if any accident are likely to happen, the computer system of the vehicle will either mitigate a rear-end collision or automatically apply brakes to stop the vehicle, and avoid rear-end collision.
The EuroNCAP has given the Volvo XC60 5 of 5 stars for passenger protection. It gained 16 of 16 points in the field of front end test and obtained 16 of 16 in the side tests too. The vehicle obtained two out of two points in the field of pole test.
The Institute for Highway Safety has given top safety award to the Volvo XC60. The XC 60 Volvo obtained top ranking for side, front, roof, and rear strength tests. The car is also equipped with a standard Electronic Stability Control.
